It’s as plain as the Nose on Your Face

Not all people are blessed to have the nose shape that they want. But thanks to breakthroughs in cosmetic procedures, we now have a way to help our patients improve the contours of their nose and make it look as natural as possible. A rhinoplasty is a very common procedure here at our facility at The Plastic Surgery Group of Rochester. It could be a very minor improvement or a very big change, but all our doctors ensure that the final result will fit the proportion of your face and your features. We still want you looking like YOU at the end of the procedure.
A rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery that reshapes the nose. It can make your nose look smaller, or larger. We can change the angle of the nose in relation to the other parts of the face like your upper lip. It can also be done to alter the tip, to correct any bumps, any indentations, or any other defects that might be present. Aside from the aesthetic value of the nose, rhinoplasty can also be performed to correct structural deformities that may cause chronic congestion and any breathing issues.
How is a rhinoplasty done? Your doctor will make incisions inside the nose to access the cartilages and the bones that support the nose. Bones and cartilages will be added or removed depending on the final result that you and your doctor have agreed on during consultation. A splint will be used outside the nose to support the new shape as the nose heals. In about 2 weeks, the swelling will subside and the nose should have healed completely and you can appreciate a more beautiful you!
