Whether it’s tulips, the easter bunny, or the thought of more sunshine that you like best about the spring season, it’s here for you to celebrate. With warm weather, it means that you will probably be spending a lot more time outside. To help you avoid getting more sun spots (brown spots) on your face or body, we have created a list of a few things that you can do.
Watch the Sun
The number one thing that you can do is try to avoid the sun as much as possible. For instance, if you are planning on heading to the pool or beach this summer, try to spend more time under a beach umbrella so that your skin is shaded.
If you can’t avoid the sun, then at least go into it with some protection. The best way for you to protect your skin? With a broad spectrum sunscreen. The best thing about broad spectrum sunscreens is that unlike other sunscreens they protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. When you are applying sunscreen, make sure that you apply it either underneath your makeup in the morning or use a spray sunscreen to put over the top of it.
Watch Your Other Face Products
You may not be aware of it but some face products that contain ingredients like benzoyl peroxide and retinol can make your skin more prone to sun damage like sun spots. If you are currently using creams or ointments that have these ingredients, try to avoid the sun as much as possible. If you have a big beach trip coming up, consider getting off of these products for a week or so to that you don’t get a burn or more sun spots.
