Do you feel your appearance makes you look sad or tired, even when you aren’t? A brow lift is a popular cosmetic surgical procedure that helps you achieve a more youthful appearance by addressing concerns in the upper third of the face.
What is an endoscopic brow lift?
Also known as a forehead lift, a brow lift is a surgical procedure that reduces wrinkles, improves frown lines, and raises the eyebrows to a more youthful appearance. A minimally invasive technique called endoscopic brow lift results in shorter recovery time and minimal if not invisible scarring. This technique requires only four small incisions made within the hairline. The surgeon inserts an endoscope or a pencil-shaped instrument that has a camera at the end, through one of the incisions. This gives the surgeon a better picture of the treatment area.
Once the surgeon has a good visualization of the muscles and tissues, surgical tools will be inserted through the other incisions to lift the forehead skin and remove or reposition muscles and tissue similar to a traditional brow lift or coronal brow lift. Once the incisions are closed, the remaining scars will be hidden in the hairline.
Good candidates
Most patients are between the ages of 40 and 60 and are unhappy with horizontal lines in their forehead, lines between the eyebrows, and sagging in the brows.
Recovery
It’s important to follow your surgeon’s instructions for a successful recovery and optimal results. It will take up to two weeks for the wounds to heal. You can return to work and normal activity around that time. If you have any bruising, you can use cosmetics to cover up or camouflage the bruised area.
Results
Results are immediately visible but continue to improve within a few weeks as swelling and bruising subside. Final results will appear over the next few months.
