Liposuction can help you achieve a slimmer, trimmer appearance that you may have only previously dreamt about. It can be done on hard-to-lose fatty areas like your upper thighs or abdominal region to give you a more sculpted body. However, once you get liposuction that doesn’t mean your body will stay that way forever! There are still some things you have to do to maintain those results and keep your body looking fabulous.
Diet
Just because you have a slimmer body following liposuction doesn’t mean you can suddenly eat whatever you want. We know it’s tempting but try your best to refrain from overindulging in unhealthy foods. In doing so you will likely start to gain the weight back in other parts of your body. However, that doesn’t mean you need to be on a super strict diet. Instead, focus on moderation and increasing foods that are rich in protein and vitamins. Try to eat whole grains, lean meats, fruits, and of course, vegetables. Limit your intake of carbohydrates and added sugars and you’ll be golden. It may take a while to get used to eating this way, but your waistline will thank you.
Exercise
Similar to your diet, you may think that your body will just stay this way and looking great forever. Unfortunately, that just isn’t how our bodies work. After you’ve been given approval from your doctor to start exercising again, we recommend that you do. Exercise is not just good for keeping your figure but it’s great for your heart and overall physical health. No matter what area you had liposuction on, whether it was your upper thighs, arms, or abdomen, try to do strength toning exercises to further tone up the area. It may take you a while you regain your endurance and stamina following your liposuction recovery so go easy on yourself at first. Start out by working out for just 10-15 minutes. You can work up to longer and harder workouts, it’s important that you try and don’t give up. Take it one day at a time and we think you’ll be even happier with your results.
