Getting liposuction can give your body the slimmer looking appearance that you never thought you’d see. Used to treat areas in which you can’t seem to slim down— no matter how hard you try— like the upper thighs or abdominal region, liposuction helps individuals achieve a thinner physique. However, once you have liposuction, that doesn’t give you an excuse to sit in bed and eat Twinkies all day, in fact, it’s more important now than ever to maintain your liposuction results.
Diet
After you undergo liposuction, you might think that the world is your oyster and that you can eat virtually anything in sight. However, making this mistake can just cause you to gain back that extra weight in other parts of your body. Instead of going to the extreme and either eating whatever you want or go on an extreme diet, try to just eat a diet that is rich in protein and vitamins. For instance, try to cut out the consumption of added sugars and carbohydrates, and instead focus on eating whole grains, lean meats, fruits, and vegetables. Although it might take some time for your body and your pallet to get used to, you will thank yourself later on.
Exercise
After you have fully recovered from liposuction and you have been given the “okay” by your surgeon, then you can start exercising again. Exercise is not only good for your heart but it is also a great way to speed up your metabolism and shed those extra pounds. Whether you got liposuction on your upper thighs, arms, or abdomen, try doing strength training exercises to tone up these specific areas of your body. If you notice that you are extremely sore or weak after just 10-15 minutes at the gym, don’t give up. Understand that it will take time to get your body back into the best shape possible— just take it one day at a time.
