Breast augmentation is continuously one of the most popular elective cosmetic procedures. However, even though this surgery has remained popular year after year, it still leaves many of our new patients wondering about the recovery process. To help speed up your recovery and make it easier, we have created a brief guide listing three helpful tips.
If practice makes perfect, then preparation is its best friend. Preparing for your breast augmentation is one of the best thing you can do. Not only will we most likely instruct you to avoid food for a little before surgery, but you can also do other thing like clean your house, get groceries, have any prescriptions filled beforehand, and plan for a ride home from our office. Remember that more prepared you are, the more relaxed you will be during recovery.
Relax and Take It Easy
If taking it easy isn’t exactly your strong suit, then this step might be difficult for you. But the more you relax during the first few days, the more likely you are to have a speedy and safe recovery. Resting gives your body enough time and energy to heal itself after surgery— which is exactly what you want. Plus, it also gives you an excuse to sit on the couch, watch movies all day, and eat some of your favorite snacks.
Call With Questions
One of the things that some of our patients don’t do is call our office with questions. Remember that we are here to support you throughout your recovery— even if just over the phone. If you are experiencing pain or tenderness that you’re unsure about, call us! If you don’t remember how to change your bandage, call us! We are your resource and so make sure you use us.
