Breast augmentation surgery has continued to remain one of the most popular surgeries not only at our office, but around the country as well. If you have decided to hop on the breast augmentation wagon, then this article is just for you. To help you get through the recovery process, let’s take a closer look at a few things you can expect after a breast augmentation.
You Have To Rest
Depending on the type of augmentation that you get and the type of implant that we use, you should take at least several days (if not an entire week) off of work and your responsibilities. Just like with any sort of surgery, your body needs as much time as it can get to recover. If you have little kids, try to get someone to come over and take care of them while you rest.
Tenderness
Another thing that you can expect after surgery is some tenderness both at your incision site and all around your breasts. To help you feel more comfortable during the first few days of recovery, we may send you home with some pain killers but you should only need them for a few days.
Swelling
Swelling is really common after a breast augmentation surgery and it should be expected. After several months, the swelling will go down and you will be able to see your full results. To help ease the swelling, make sure that you wear your compression bra during recovery and that you continue to wear a bra when you are working out or doing any jumping.
