Why Breast Reduction Surgery?

Men who have either lost a suddenly large amount of weight, or men who have taken body lifting supplements in the past, may start to develop large breasts. As something that is embarrassing and cause men to feel more than self conscious, male breast reduction surgery is designed to take out the breast fat and tissue and give these men back their self esteem.

What Is the Procedure Like?

During this procedure, a small incision will be made typically near the underarm. Once the incision has been made, the surgeon will go into the breast area and remove excess breast tissue and fat that has accumulated. Once this has all been removed, the surgeon will then stitch the incision site back up and the patient will be sent into recovery.

Is It Painful?

Just like with any sort of plastic surgery, patients will be under anesthesia during the entire process so that they won’t feel a thing. However, the recovery portion of this process might be a little painful but patients will likely be given some painkillers in order to help with the pain and discomfort.

Also during the healing process, patients will be required to wear a bandage around the breast area in order to prevent any sort of infection or strain on the surgical site. Some form of compression shirt or sleeve may also be given to the patient to wear a few days after the surgery.
